  • Advanced student performers (8th-12th grade)
  • Students pursuing musical theatre seriously

Participants experience:

  • Vocal coaching (technique + storytelling)

  • Dance/choreography
  • Mock auditions with feedback
  • Industry insight and coaching

This is not a traditional summer camp.

 

Students receive direct, individualized coaching every day and are trained at the level of a working performer in a professional rehearsal environment with a showcase performance at SAK Theatre 2pm July 3rd.

Stephen Trafton

Stephen Trafton's Broadway credits include Les Misérables (Original Revival Cast) and the National Tour of The Phantom of the Opera. He has performed at many regional theatres across the country in leading roles including Oklahoma!, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Bye Bye Birdie, Love's Labour's Lost, Romeo & Juliet, Beauty and the Beast, and many others. He has extensive experience in arts leadership and community engagement, having served in various directorial roles in Orlando and New York City. Stephen and his wife Juliette are the co-founders of RESOUND, a new professional arts initiative in Orlando designed to serve the entire community through exceptional concerts, theatrical performances, and creative gatherings (resoundarts.com). He lives in Orlando with his wife Juliette, their three children, and their dog, Digory.

Juliette Trafton

Juliette Trafton starred as Luisa in the longest running musical in the world, The Fantasticks, directed by Tom Jones in New York City. Before that, she performed the role of Christine Daae in the Broadway Tour of The Phantom of the Opera where she met and performed with her husband, Stephen. As a commercial artist you can follow her work on national campaigns in all media as well as hosting for companies like Advent Health. A lover of improv, Juliette completed all levels of curriculum at Upright Citizens Brigade in NYC and continues her training at SAK Comedy Lab here in Orlando. She loves nothing more than performing with Stephen, and the two have performed at world class venues nationally, as well as in concert with symphony orchestras. Favorite roles include: Sarah from Guys and Dolls and Jane from Jane Eyre. Most proud of the Trafton Trio, Tadd, Audra, and Jude.

Whitney Meyer

Whitney’s vocal career spans a diverse range of experiences, including Off-Broadway as the original Angelina in Angelina Ballerina the Musical to soloist on Epcot’s current fireworks show, Luminous. She has spent the past nine years performing as a Soprano with Disney's esteemed a cappella ensemble, the Voices of Liberty, at Epcot. Her voice can be heard in Disney fireworks shows, parades, and cruise lines around the world. Whitney also serves as a Vocal Coach at Disney, in addition to casting the “cast choir" for Epcot's Christmas Candlelight Processional.

By day, Whitney designs homes in the real estate market as a home stager and interior designer, transforming properties to help buyers feel at home. Above all of these creative endeavors, her most important role is as MAMA to her son Greyson (7) and Avonlea (4) and wife of 16 years to her best friend, Nathan.
